Self-Publishing Solutions

Are you a writer who is interested in self-publishing but doesn't have the time for formatting and/or uploading an ebook?

Are you considering self-publishing but not sure how to go about it or where to start?

Maybe I can help.

I have experience of formatting for Kindle, Smashwords, and Lulu and have done so for several authors (some examples are shown below).  I am also currently in the process of signing up with Lightning Source.

I also have recommendations if you are looking for editors, proofreaders, cover designers, typesetters etc.

I'd also be able to advise you on the basics of setting up an online presence, which is essential for marketing yourself and your publications. (I currently run two Twitter streams on behalf of other individuals, as well as my own.)

I have experience of reading for an American author to provide critique on the "Britishness" of their writing.

Basically, if you need help in any way, and I can offer it, I will.

Please contact me initially via my contact page and I will be happy to discuss your requirements with you.

Below are some books I have had the pleasure of working on:

I have some exciting projects lined up for 2013 and am delighted to be working with Sue Welfare and Madalyn Morgan to start the year off.

Foxden Acres by Madalyn Morgan

Settlers In T'Dale by Ian Long is a book that I project-managed the publication process for.
I selected and liaised with the editor, designed the cover for Kindle and formatted the book for Kindle.
Now available for Kindle.

Lipstick and Lies is Debbie Viggiano's sequel to her fantastic debut novel Stockings and Cellulite. She asked me to format it for Kindle and Lulu.

Lily's Pink Cloud is Debbie Viggiano's first publication for children. She asked me if I would format and upload this short story to Kindle and Lulu.

My first freelance formatting job was for Debbie Viggiano. I formatted Flings and Arrows for Kindle, Smashwords and Lulu and did the uploading for Debbie. We also discussed marketing ideas, with a focus on Kindle promotions and blogging.

Emma Jameson is an American author, who writes books set in England. She asked me to read through Blue Murder and give her feedback from the point of view of a British person.
Emma's books are available from a wide variety of booksellers, including Amazon.

When Dreams Come True is my second novel for older children.
For this book I worked with 3 beta readers and an editor. I liaised with a photographer who took the cover shot for me to my specifications. I did the cover design myself using GIMP and formatted for Lulu, Kindle and Smashwords

A Knowing Look and Other Stories is my own self-published collection of short stories. I described this process on my blog using the label My Self-Publishing Adventures.
I liaised with an editor and cover designer, and did my own Kindle, Lulu and Smashwords formatting.

  1. I can only applaud Rebecca for her wonderful help which came at a time when I was despairing. If it hadn't been for Rebecca's help, Flings and Arrows would be gathering dust with zero sales. She kickstarted both my novel and my bank balance, and I will be returning to her again and again.
